PILATES

Corrective pilates specialist with classes to help strengthen core, increase mobility & relieve back pain.

Pilates was founded in the early 20th Century by Joseph Pilates and its a longstanding method of exercise concentrating on strengthening the muscles that support the frame.

 

I teach a clinical pilates method and my corrections throughout the class are unique to your body's functionality. You will come for an initial one to one 60 minute session before your first class where I will assess your posture + history and then teach you the fundamentals of my pilates method. During this session I will ensure you understand what exercise modifications are specific to you and I will show you how to move correctly for your body.

 

I teach a matwork method of pilates using small equipment such as Therabands, Over ball, Foam Rollers, Small Hand Weights and the Pilates Circle. You will need to get this equipment + your own suitable Pilates mat. If you need recommendations of where to purchase suitable kit you can email me and I will send you links. The hour long class will take you through a variety of postures including standing and floor work, I am constantly checking on you throughout the class, modifying as necessary. My classes are held from Highfield Residents Gardens and Hiltingbury Sports Centre.

  

Small group sessions and one on one Pilates are also available.  Home visits upon request.
