ABOUT ME
Hello, I'm Jane Shields, I have over 18 years of experience and I specialise in corrective exercise, 1-1 fitness training, clinical Pilates and diet/nutrition.
I have always had an interest in the body, health, fitness and nutrition. It all began in 1996 when I studied and qualified in Sports Massage and Aromatherapy whilst raising two children. I successfully ran my own private home based clinic and always enjoyed exercising myself. It was my love of fitness and circuits that then lead me to train towards a national fitness competition in 2001, gaining first place. The whole experience inspired me to study for personal training & nutrition certification and after qualifying I had my first role as a Personal Trainer with David Lloyd.
I worked with David Lloyd for 3 years and during my time there gained certification in corrective exercise with The National Academy of Sports Science. It gave me extensive knowledge of how to help correct muscle imbalance with exercise and this inspired me to work within a more clinical environment.
I went freelance in 2004 and now hold my training sessions and pilates classes at Hiltingbury Sports Centre, Highfield Residents Gardens, and Trojans Gym in Eastleigh. I also offer 1-1 home sessions. I have gained amazing experience working alongside a physiotherapy team for 14 years, with an extensive knowledge of the mechanics of the body. My clients’ needs range from general fitness and weight loss to post operative and rehabilitative exercise. I’ve never seen age as a barrier and train lots of people who are 40 + seeing amazing results. I have particular specialism in training women peri and post menopause.
Whatever your age or fitness level I’d love to hear from you so please do get in touch and we can discuss your personalised plan.
